Hello, my name is Ali and I’m a first-year history student whose been fairly active in anisoc since the beginning of term 1
Last year in my high school I held a similar role in my pole vault team where I came up with and organised events and training sessions, both with the rest of the track team and for our event alone, so I’ve got experience being an events officer and hosting events with other groups/societies
If I was elected events officer I would keep the chill vibe we’ve had throughout the year with the chill socials in the middle of the week and a fun activity at the end of the week.
Additionally, I would also organise occasional large-scale events, potentially with other London/UCL societies, such as seasonal celebrations - like a Christmas social and hopefully a successful Halloween party as well.
It was a fun year in anisoc and I hope I can be part of helping continue that into next year
My passion and knowledge in anime and animation in general, as well as my desire to spread it will push me to organize and host more, better events, that actually put more emphasis on anime itself - these could be september and october movie trips for kny/csm movies, or monthly themed movie screenings or animanga/ln sharings, or collabs with pokemon club etc. I have experience in leading and hosting events for other recreational clubs in previous schools, and believe I can bring these skills to the table
