Jad El Manjra

As a citizen of a developing country, I've seen firsthand the importance of rethinking our business practices in order to better tailor our societies to the ever-changing needs of the modern world. I've had the opportunity to lead social projects as part of my role in a Moroccan NGO focused on social impact, but I'd love to have this opportunity to foster a culture of business and corporate social responsibility and inspire positive change within our community in UCL. I am excited about this opportunity and hope to accomplish a lot and learn a lot from all of you!

Ellen Tsai

Hi, I'm Ellen!

What distinguishes me is a clear vision for the development of the Social Enterprise division in Business Society, coupled with actionable plans to drive meaningful change. Having served as the interim Social Enterprise Vice-President for the last few months and as a First-Year Executive last academic year, I am well-equipped with the necessary experience, insights, and passion to steer our division towards even greater heights.

My events so far includes the recent AmplifyME simulator, which aims to improve diversity and inclusion in banking. Building on such successes, my team and I are currently finalising details for the upcoming Impact Investment Championships, which promises to be our flagship for the 5th year running.

Looking ahead, my goals extend towards partnering with start-ups to implement mentorship schemes, and I would love exploring avenues for us to level the playing field by providing more equitable opportunities for all members.

Additionally, I am committed to fostering collaboration by expanding partnerships and breaking down siloed work styles. By creating a more interconnected and dynamic environment, we can maximise our collective potential and drive even greater positive change within our community.

The feedback I have received so far has been heartening, and I am grateful for your continued support. Feel free to contact me at [email protected] if you would like to learn more about any of my points above.

Thank you for your vote!

Lincoln Cheng

Hey I'm Lincoln, a penultimate year PPE with Data Science student.

Over the past two years, I have served as Vice President for three different societies at UCL, and have developed strong team leadership skills through coordinating large conferences, speaker events and collaborative initiatives.

Beyond student life, I have also gained hands-on entrepreneurial experience, obtaining first runner up in High School for a Business Pitching Competition, and Semi-Finalist for a Social Venture Challenge by Harvard WorldMUN x Resolution Project.

These all taught me invaluable lessons around fundraising and stakeholder management that I believe would serve me well in supporting Business Society within my role as VP.

If selected, some priorities I would focus on include:

  • Expanding our mentorship network within the professional business community, and liaising with social enterprises to provide richer guidance and connections
  • Developing new accelerator programs, workshops and funding opportunities to nurture ambitious ideas from conception to market
  • Curating networking events and showcase platforms to help ventures attract talent and potential investors/partners
  • Monitoring global innovation trends to inform strategic focus areas and guide ventures towards opportunities for real impact

For that, I would truly appreciate your vote of confidence. ;)
