Claudia De Sousa Miranda Perez

Since last year, UCLWB has been a safe space for me to express myself and my passion for the sport. Regardless of not being the most experienced player in the team, I have a lot to offer in terms of leadership, teamwork, and positivity.

UCLWB LUSL and R&D sessions should be a safe space for all players, regardless of their skill level. My main goal is to foster a positive environment where everyone feels supported and has the chance to learn and grow both as a player and as a person. I trust that ensuring everyone feels comfortable taking risks and trying new things will help potentiate the team’s capabilities. As captain, I will work closely with the coach to guarantee everyone feels valued and respected, and is happy about the way skill sessions are conducted.

Another passion of mine is promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion in my community. As captain, I would work to create a team that is welcoming and inclusive to everyone, regardless of their background, age, or identity. I will advocate for UCLWB LUSL team to have a zero-tolerance policy for bullying, harassment, and discrimination. I will make sure to be an approachable captain in whom teammates can confide or who can point out the right resources if they are struggling in any way.

In conclusion, I would be honoured to put myself at the service of the team as LUSL captain, and look forward to working with my teammates to challenge ourselves to become better players and achieve our team goals.

Thank you 😊
