Jazz Society: Welfare Officer

I am standing for the welfare officer role because I am passionate about creating a supportive, welcoming environment where all jazz society members feel valued. The 2 years that I have been a part of this community have been restorative and enriching, and I would love to contribute by ensuring our current and any future members have a positive experience too. I’m approachable and empathetic, but most importantly, I am committed to being someone people feel comfortable reaching out to. If appointed, I would like to help organise events that will benefit our wellbeing, while giving us a chance to socialise, which will in turn, integrate the society members and promote inclusion. The jazz society is already great, and our alto saxophone section, which is growing each year, is a testament to how having a committee that cares makes a large difference in engagement. I would love the opportunity to support and build the society further.
