I am interested in conducting a research in the energy sphere with a group, whether the research is focusing on climate change, AI in energy, new technologies, etc.
I’m excited to apply for the Research Associate role with UCL's Energy Society. Having had experience in research and communication, I’m eager to get involved with this society, through generating ideas for speaker sessions and keeping students updated on the latest energy trends.
In sixth form, I started a STEM club where we discussed the latest scientific developments. I lead discussions and encouraged everyone to share their ideas, which gave me a strong sense of what kinds of topics spark interest and involvement. This will help me suggest interesting and relevant speaker themes for the Energy Society, especially around topics like sustainable energy, renewable tech, and energy policy.
I also co-wrote a blog series called Acclimatised, which focused on climate research and renewable energy. I researched topics such as sodium-ion batteries and other battery technologies that could play a big role in the future of energy. This experience helped me learn how to research complex topics and make them easy to understand, which I believe will be useful for providing regular, digestible updates on the energy sector for students.
I’m really looking forward to the opportunity to help generate ideas and share insights with the Energy Society, and I’d love to contribute to keeping everyone informed and excited about the future of energy!
Hi everyone, my name is Rai, and I am running for Research Associate this year. As a candidate for this role, my vision is to develop innovative ideas for the content of the Energy Society’s speaker events through applying the knowledge that I have gained from attending industry talks from companies that work towards Net-Zero, such as Fairheat and Itero Technologies. Moreover, I intend to use the marketing skills that I have developed as Head of Marketing for UCL Indian society, to regularly give updates on the industry to students on social media platforms. This will hopefully inspire more students to work in industry and pursue a career in the energy sector.
