I’m excited to apply for the Research Associate role with UCL's Energy Society. Having had experience in research and communication, I’m eager to get involved with this society, through generating ideas for speaker sessions and keeping students updated on the latest energy trends.

In sixth form, I started a STEM club where we discussed the latest scientific developments. I lead discussions and encouraged everyone to share their ideas, which gave me a strong sense of what kinds of topics spark interest and involvement. This will help me suggest interesting and relevant speaker themes for the Energy Society, especially around topics like sustainable energy, renewable tech, and energy policy.

I also co-wrote a blog series called Acclimatised, which focused on climate research and renewable energy. I researched topics such as sodium-ion batteries and other battery technologies that could play a big role in the future of energy. This experience helped me learn how to research complex topics and make them easy to understand, which I believe will be useful for providing regular, digestible updates on the energy sector for students.

I’m really looking forward to the opportunity to help generate ideas and share insights with the Energy Society, and I’d love to contribute to keeping everyone informed and excited about the future of energy!
