Elisabeth Perreau-Saussine

Hey, my name is Bizzy (short for Elisabeth). I’m currently in fifth year studying medicine. I’m standing for this role because I’m interested in the application of psychedelics to the medical field, particularly for mental health disorders. I’m also interested in health policy and how political agendas shape access to medicines. UCL SAP seems like a perfect place to explore these further:)
In terms of my ideas for the role, I’d love to set up a newsletter summarising activities the society is undertaking, events in the news and writing and artwork by members. Another idea would be to record a podcast, where we interview experts from the field and have conversations with each other. I would also try to set up regular instagram research series to build our online presence. Any ideas the rest of the committee has I’d also be super on board with.
I’ve had a fair bit of experience with committees and the SU - I’m currently president of the Student Inclusion Health Society, and have previously been captain of RUMS women’s hockey IIs. This means I know how to work well within a team and also how the union works! In terms of writing and publicity, I’ve had internship with the British medical journal so know a bit about healthcare writing and podcasting. I love reading and running and listen to a lot of podcasts. I also love travelling, meeting new people and trying random things.
Summary = please vote for me since I will bring good vibes and think the role sounds interesting!

Hannah Peltier

Hi there! My name is Hannah, I am a third-year nutrition and medical sciences student who is eager to introduce my creative writing style and innovative ideas to the society. Being interested in scientific journalism, I would be excited to use the monthly newsletter to showcase current developments in psychedelic research, in addition to communicating upcoming society events and engagements. Keeping up with the exponential growth of this field has become an interest of mine, and I'd be enthusiastic to continue my up-to-date tabs on research and external events (both within and beyond UCL) to signpost interested members. Working on updating SAP's website is another area I'm very interested in, and already have a few ideas! The first involves the inclusion of written summaries of our speaker events, either by myself or anyone else who is interested in contributing, to create a collection of study findings, understandings, and explanations for future retrospection. Additionally, this will help make information more accessible for any members living with a disability that might limit their in-person participation. Two other initiatives I'd like to carry out include re-establishing the journal club, a space for members to discuss psychedelic research with like-minded students, and using the website to signpost students to information on safe psychedelic use and addiction recovery resources (because let's face it, not all our website visits will be for academic interest)

thank you!
