Xiaohongshu
UCOpera Society runs events to get students involved in opera, both beginners and those with operatic experience.
Founded in 1951, UCOpera is the most ambitious student opera company in the country, bringing lesser known works to the stage, including 3 world premières and 23 British premières.
In 2026, UCOpera became independent from Music Society, allowing opera at UCL to expand.
We organise a range of concerts – from Opera Scenes in term 1 and 3, to the annual UCOpera performance in term 2, performed in the Bloomsbury Theatre, giving opportunities for solo roles, an orchestra and an un-auditioned chorus.
We also have opportunities for repetiteurs, piano accompanists and conductors, so please get in touch – we'd love to have you!
