A glimpse into some elements of Telugu Culture:

1) 🎤Telugu language 🎤

Telugu is one of the six major classical Indian languages spoken in India and is one of the most ancient and melodious Dravidian languages. In fact, it is quite often referred to as “The Italian of the East”, as words in the Telugu language end with vowels, similar to words in Italian.

2) 🎨Telugu Art and Dance: A blend of Grace and Tradition🎨

Telugu culture is also renowned for its classical dance form, Kuchipudi, which originates from Andhra Pradesh. It combines the delicate art of storytelling through intricate footwork, hand gestures and facial expressions.

Telugu art also includes traditional artworks such as Cheriyal scroll paintings and Kalamkari as well as detailed handicrafts such as Kondapalli bommalu (toys).

3) 🎬Cinema: The Magic of Tollywood 🎬

Telugu cinema (Tollywood) forms one of India’s largest and most influential film industries. The Telugu film industry, with iconic films like Bahubali and Pushpa, is enjoyed by millions of fans worldwide for its riveting storylines, emotional depth and diversity.

Most notably, Telugu culture has been highlighted in pop culture by the recent Oscar award for Best Original Song 2023 being given for the song ‘Naatu Naatu’ from the Telugu film RRR – the first ever Indian film to win an Oscar award for this category.

4) 🍲Telugu Cuisine🍲

Telugu cuisine is world-famous for dishes like Hyderabadi Biryani and Pesarattu dosa.
