Welcome to the UCL Indo-Pak Development Society 2026/27!

UCL IPDS offers a welcoming and open space for student-led discussions around the development of South Asia, particularly India and Pakistan. Join us for events where we all learn (from professors, journalists, and politicians), and talk (through debates and social events)!

Our £3 membership includes the following:

  • A fun ‘Chai and Chat’ alongside a variety of Indian and Pakistani snacks
  • A Desi trivia night with food and board games
  • Lectures and talks from professors
  • Our flagship event - our ‘Beyond Borders’ conference - a large panel of speakers
  • Friendly debates and discussions
  • A movie night
  • Visits to Indo-Pak art exhibitions and museums
  • Embassy visits
  • And much more!

During our more academic/political events, we will focus on topics like: the Partition, the current Indo-Pak political climate, Kashmir, issues pertinent to both countries (such as education, poverty, healthcare, gender inequality, corruption etc.), and more!

UCL IPDS is open to all students, regardless of background. For more information and to get to know us better, make sure to check out our Instagram @uclindopak.
