Shape your future: With us, you will be empowered with the knowledge, skills and network to work at the forefront of education in an enterprising manner. You will gain a massive skills edge in traditional education sector roles, but also gain access to exhilarating roles in:
- Learning technologies and design (e.g. Duolingo, or locally, Busuu);
- Teaching, camp-leading & community work in education nonprofits/firms (e.g. Education First, GoStudent);
- Business development (sales, strategy, marketing) in education (e.g. Goodnotes, private schools/unis);
- Education/EdTech investment in start-up accelerators/VCs (i.e. investing in Kahoot! when it was still young);
- Or, be an education entrepreneur yourself!
If not, you ought to stay relevant in fast-paced changes of the modern education industry. Education is a miniature social institution that mirrors a reflection of our multifaceted reality; its imperfections pose a threat to our generation, the students of today's age. We are here to scrutinise those flaws, tackle them, and change them.
So don't ponder - join us to envision the future of education NOW!
- 💼 Join us as a committee member 💼 (25-26 October Cycle CLOSED!)
-
👋 Hi, but HOLD UP. The EIE committee is more of a talent accelerator and a family rather than a student society committee.
Normal societies: Decentralised and disjointed, are largely remote or hybrid, have no probationary periods, no upskilling sessions, and no internal committee by-laws to observe (and if so, not enforced).
A mini-social start-up at early growth stage (us): is centrally managed with a culture like a sports team, has weekly in-person meetings, a mandatory ramp-up period, upskilling and training days, and by-laws to observe and enforce.
This builds a healthy system in order to maintain a strong organisational culture to support our high standards of output. Instead of lateral "hires" to the team, we prefer younger applicants who are hungry, diligent and coachable - we have a massive pool of resources (advisory network, in-house business training and a free MasterClass at Work subscription) to make you flourish. We want a satisfying and empowering experience for all, so no slackers allowed, period. To date, we have championed our close-knit culture, which allows our teammates to flourish with 100% team support and no judgment!
If you are an individual powerhouse looking to challenge yourself and make a difference in education, our October 2025 cycle is now open! Submit your application Here.
Note: While key management positions are democratically elected every year through the Leadership Race, the rest of our team will be onboarded throughout the year. We will continue to onboard mostly by application and recommendations until operational breakeven to ensure that our committee members are skilled and 100% committed to serving our community.
This also ensures that the society is able to build a solid foundation for continuation, as approximately 90% of the new societies do not run past three years largely due to internal management problems masked behind a subsisting community.
