👋 Hi, but HOLD UP. The EIE committee is more of a talent accelerator and a family rather than a student society committee.

Normal societies: are usually divisionally decentralised and disjointed, are largely remote or hybrid, have no ramp-up and probationary periods, have no upskilling sessions, and have no internal committee by-laws to observe (and if so, not enforced).

A mini-social start-up at early growth stage (us): is centrally managed with a culture like a sports team, has weekly in-person meetings, a mandatory ramp-up period, upskilling and training days, and by-laws to observe and enforce

This allows a healthy system to be built so that we maintain a strong organisational culture to support our high standards of output for our students. Instead of lateral "hires" to the team, we prefer younger applicants who are hungry, diligent and coachable as we have a massive pool of resources (advisory network, in-house business training and a free MasterClass at Work subscription) to make you flourish. We want a satisfying and empowering experience for all, so no slackers allowed, period. To date, we have championed our close-knit culture, which allows us to send lame memes and banter with inside jokes in group chats without any reservations or second-hand embarrassment, due to a simple lack of bad feelings about your workmates.

Rather than individual applications, we prefer ambitious friend groups who have a robust level of camaraderie to apply together, so that there is existing rapport between the team's most important asset - people. Note: While key management positions are democratically elected every year through the Leadership Race, the rest of our team will be onboarded throughout the year. We will continue to onboard mostly by application and recommendations until operational breakeven to ensure that our committee members are skilled and 100% committed to serving our community. This also ensures that the society is able to build a solid foundation for continuation, as approximately 90% of the new societies do not run past three years largely due to internal management problems masked behind a subsisting community.

For SEO purposes, that an EdTech society exists, we have kindly used ChatGPT (a non-EdTech tech) to inspire us to write a paragraph that repeatedly uses the word "EdTech": We love EdTech. EdTech is our life. We can't stop dreaming about how EdTech is the future of education; the presence of EdTech will be ubiquitous in classrooms and beyond. EdTech is transforming, EdTech is equalising and EdTech is motivating. EdTech's revolutionary nature can be felt by EdTech users, but soon-to-be by non-EdTech users as well. In fact, they are all using the largest EdTech platform every day, YouTube, and using one right now, the Student Union website (that's debatable). This is clearly never enough EdTech, so here's more EdTech.
