Should the Students' Union support the UCU strikes of 2021? Vote Here

Congratulations on reaching UCL! Choosing which societies you want to join will be a key component of your university experience!

Perhaps you've only ever seen baseball online? Maybe the extent of your bat and ball skills were seen during Year 9 cricket...doesn't matter - we welcome all abilities from those schooled in the game to first-time rookies. No equipment required, just an interest in playing America's national pastime!

As our name suggests, we offer members the opportunity to play baseball! Here at UCL, we always have players with backgrounds in baseball and we are keen to both play the game at a high competitive standard, and to introduce the game to first time players.

We hold weekly training sessions on Wednesdays, where we practise everything to do with baseball! From the basics of throwing and batting, to more specialised roles (like pitching), we make sure that the sessions are at the right level and are enjoyable for everyone involved.

Along with our training sessions, we have a range of social events, including post-training meetups, nights out and team dinners!

For members looking for a more competitive experience, we are looking into arranging friendly matches against other university baseball teams, as well as local baseball club teams.

Memberships:

Remote (£0): We understand that during these times, some students may not be able to attend our in-person training sessions and social events. With our free remote membership, we offer members the opportunity to join our group chats and mailing list, to stay up to date for when you are ready to join us on the field. We are also finding ways to host baseball-related online/hybrid events, which will be accessible to remote members.

Social (£10): With a social membership, members can take part in our weekly training sessions, as well as many of our regular social events. Ideal for first-time learners, for the budget-friendly price of £10 for the entire year!

Competitive (£20): With a competitive membership, members will have priority for team selection in friendly matches against other university baseball clubs and against local baseball club teams. In addition to this, we offer team-only social events and dinners, to which members will be invited to. This membership is ideal for anyone looking for a more competitive experience with Baseball Club this season, regardless of past experience!

Staying in Touch:

For up to date information about the club, training sessions and social events, follow us on Instagram (@ucl_baseball) and Facebook (UCL Baseball Club). We will be able to answer any further questions you may have about the club via these social media platforms. You can also keep up to date with club activities though our mailing list, which is available to all members.

We look forward to seeing you on the baseball field!
