UCL Baking Society  

Welcome to UCL Baking Soc 2026/2027!

Whether you’re a master baker, a complete beginner, or simply someone who loves eating cake, the Baking Society is for you! Join us to meet friendly new people, share and enjoy plenty of cake, and give back to the community at the same time.

We have plenty exciting plans lined up this year:

  • Bake sales, and doing good for the community!
  • Bakery and cooking trips!
  • Monthly bake shares!
  • Movie nights and Great British Bake off watch parties!
  • Baking Society merch!

And if you really can’t bake – don’t worry, everybody is welcome, and we’ll help you learn how to bake!

Membership information

Free taster membership - Gives you access to all our freshers events in the first 3 weeks of term. Please note that after 20th October 2026, all attendees for bakesoc events should have purchased either a Standard or Baking Plus membership.

Standard Baker membership (£5) - Enjoy access to all our free events - from bake shares and bakery crawls to movie nights and more!! Access to ticketed events such as biscuit decorating and gingerbread house building will require a ticket purchase of £1/£2!

Star Baker membership (£10) - Get everything in Standard, plus guaranteed exclusive access to our special ticketed events throughout the year -  including gingerbread house building and cupcake decorating!!

Welcome to Baking Society’s first event of the year! 

We start the new year, every year, with a Great British Bake Off watch party! This year we are hosting a quiz and refreshments between 7-8pm, perfect to meet new people, team up and chat!! 💬🤔

The quiz theme is GENERAL KNOWLEDGE! 🧠

From 8pm- 9.30pm, we will be watching the second episode of the Great British Bake Off live!
