Despite making up 93% of the UK population, state school educated people are vastly underrepresented in virtually every top career, with private school alumni making up 65% of FTSE 350 CEOs, 57% of House of Lords Peers, 52% of diplomats, 44% of newspaper columnists, 46% of corporate lawyers, and 59% of permanent secretaries.
This disparity is driven by the exclusive networks private schools provide, offering lifelong opportunities and connections that state school students often lack. That's why we're building the UK's least exclusive members' club.
Our mission is simple: to give state-educated people the same access to powerful connections, knowledge, and opportunities that have historically been reserved for the privately-educated, as well as forming a supportive, inclusive and fun community on campus that meet for regular social events.

Welcome to our society!
Did you attend a state school before starting university? If yes, then this is the place for you! We are looking forward to welcoming as many state school students to our society this year for events that are fun, free, and useful for your career goals.
We will be running our welcome picnic, pub socials, CV screening events, panel talks, free lunch initiatives to make your life on campus cheaper, seasonal events for Halloween, Christmas, St Patricks day etc as well as society collabs to try new things within a state school community. We will also be hosting networking events and exclusive career insight opportunities!
Our membership is £3 (unfortunately we have to charge this :( to get our grant funding for the year), and it should be the only thing you pay for across the whole academic year. We aim to make all our events entirely free to enable students from all financial backgrounds to come and enjoy themselves.
