Hey guys, I'm Manaal, your International Students’ Officer this year!
Being the International Students’ Officer has been such a core part of my journey at UCL. From all the fun during vote week and applying with literally no hope of winning but then being re-elected and working so closely with the international student community for two years, it has been an amazing experience. I've established a central network, built regional representative committees, worked with UCL authorities, advocated for international students – and I've loved every minute of it.
Being a part of International Festival 2025
International Festival was the biggest highlight for me. It was an honour to bring together students from a diverse range of societies and
backgrounds, and I loved taking part in various incredible activities, including leading the International Quiz and trying my hand at salsa dancing. From planning to delivery, every step of the project was so exciting.

Being a student officer, you really get to work at the heart of the student experience and to push for the change that you want to see on
campus. So, if you're thinking about applying in the Leadership Race, take it from me and just do it. You never know where it might take you.
