London really comes alive at Christmas like no other city on earth. We’ve put together a list of some of the things London has to offer this festive time…

Christmas at Harrods

Every year, Harrods goes all out with their Christmas decorations. This year they’re transforming their famous Knightsbridge store into an emporium of wonder and magic. They’ve got events taking place around the festive season to celebrate so have a look on their website for the Kingdom of Christmas

Christmas lights

There’s some really beautiful Christmas lights right near campus (Regent’s Street, Oxford Circus, Carnaby Street, Seven Dials…) and then there are some that are more interesting than beautiful… We’re showing you all the lights of London over here.

Winter Market at the Southbank

Head down to London’s Southbank for the annual German-style Christmas market. Enjoy some mulled wine, hand-craft toys, Bratwurst and many more seasonal goodies! Apart from the German Market, there are actually loads of things happening like the circus, theatre performances and loads more.

Ice Skating

Somerset House is one of the most magical places you can go for ice-skating, but there are many more places all around London. You don’t have to be a pro (you can hog the walls!) so if you’re up for a spin, then check out all the places you can go.

Winter Wonderland

In the winter, something happens to Hyde Park - it fills with light and sound and becomes this Christmas bonanza. There’s an ice-rink, German markets, fairground rides, an ice kingdom, comedy shows and spectacular shows on ice. If you’re in London over the winter break, then Winter Wonderland is definitely a must-see.

Christmas in Leicester Square

Don’t forget to check out Christmas in Leicester Square market filled with festive cheer, delicious snacks and last minute. You can also enjoy wonderful shows put on by La Clique who are back for the first time in 10 years.

The Nutcracker

Be sure to check out the Nutcracker, performed by the English National Ballet, at the London Coliseum. Nothing is more festive than seeing a traditional Christmas story brought to life through elegant dancing. Check online for seating and prices.

Carols, Concerts and More

Be sure to check out Royal Albert Hall’s variety of Christmas activities, such as live recitals of A Christmas Carol.
