We’ve made changes to the way next year’s full-time, paid, Sabbatical Officer team will work and have created a new role to take equality, diversity and inclusion at UCL forward. The six Sabbatical Officer positions will make change happen at UCL, they’re open to everyone and anyone can apply.
The six Sabbatical Officer positions are:
Activities and Engagement Officer
Here to make more happen in societies, sports, volunteering, employability and careers, global engagement and partnerships and more.
Education Officer
Here to make more happen in academic policy and regulations, libraries and study spaces, teaching, learning and assessment, and fees, whilst being a part of UCL Council.
Equity Officer
Here to make more happen in our student communities and networks, including the BME Students’ Network, the Women’s Network, the LGBT+ Network, and the Disabled Students’ Network. Leading the Equalities Unit and giving the liberation officers the support they need to make substantial change to the way students experience UCL. Tackling discrimination, decolonising our curriculum, improving the accessibility of campus, and being actively anti-racist.
Postgraduate Officer
Here to make more happen in academic policy and regulations, doctoral and research education, libraries and study spaces, postgraduate community building, and postgraduate students’ issues.
Union Affairs Officer
here to make more happen in Union democracy, elections and referenda, Union governance, finance and commercial services, Union strategy and direction, sustainability and national policy issues, whilst being a part of UCL Council.
Welfare and Community Officer
Here to make more happen in accommodation and housing, international student support, mental health support, Project Active, as well as supporting student communities and networks including the networks for mature and part-time students, students with caring responsibilities, and the international students’ network.
