What are the Volunteering Awards?
Every summer, we hold our annual Volunteering Awards as a way to look back and celebrate all the wonderful things you've done through volunteering. Consider the Awards as our special way of saying “Thank you!” and to show our appreciation for your efforts.
We've had to cancel our Awards evening in June but this still hasn't stopped us from giving you the acknowledgement you deserve! We're currently planning our online Awards, so make sure you keep an eye out for more updates.
Get nominating!
Last year, we revamped our Awards by offering the chance for volunteers to win individual awards (Biggest Impact, Most Committed Volunteer, Best Volunteer Moment and Wildcard!). We created these awards to recognise volunteers who may have gone above and beyond in their role as a volunteer and we want to show that their good work isn't going unacknowledged. We also give awards for Student-Led Project of Year and Organisation of the Year.
We all love a humble king or queen, but don’t be afraid to put yourself out there and shout out your achievements by nominating yourself; it’s a great way to be recognised for your work, can add a little pizzazz to your CV and even inspire someone else to volunteer! To top it all off, winners for each prize will also receive a £50 Amazon voucher.
So if you know someone who’d be great for the award (including yourself!), we want you to get nominating; it’s super quick and easy, and there’s nothing to lose. So whether you’ve been a One-Off volunteer, regularly volunteering or in a Student-Led Project – we’d love to hear your story.

And if you need just that little bit more convincing to get nominating, here’s a few of our winners from last year and their stories.
George Barker won for his dedication as director of Sexpression:UK, a national charity.
Aphisara Banasanprasit won our Wildcard Award for her amazing work at a juvenile detention centre.
Impactive won Project of the Year for all their impressive achievements, designing and assembling aids for people with disabilities to allow them to live a more independent life.
Double Exposure won Best Newcomer Project, supporting people who have experienced homelessness by giving them a creative outlet through photography.
What now?
So what do you actually need to do? You can check out our nominations page for our Individual Awards categories, nominate the wonderful organisation you’ve been volunteering with for Organisation of the Year, or if you’re a Project Leader, nominate yourself for Student-Led Project of the Year (even if you're still a new project, as you could win our Best Newcomer Award!).
You can also request to receive your volunteering certificate, which you can do here. We'll then send you a PDF copy in June.
Also, if you have an amazing volunteering story to tell – we’d love to hear it! Your story will be used for the promotions of our Awards, so become a Volunteer Champion.
