UCL Live Music Society is delighted to invite you to the 12th annual Bloomsbury Theatre production; Rhapsody 2026. Winning multiple Best Bloomsbury Production awards, Rhapsody promises to be a music concert like no other. The show brings together an exceptional collective of musicians for an exciting evening of spectacle, sound, and showmanship.

We caught up with Co-Directors Sabeer Sawhney and Gemma Villoresi, as well as Producer Amie Stott as they talked to us about the journey to Rhapsody 2026.

How does it feel to be performing at Bloomsbury Theatre?

It’s incredible to have the opportunity to put on a show in this theatre, and we as a team could not be happier to see our vision put to life on the stage. Despite us having participated in multiple UCL shows at the Bloomsbury Theatre, the novelty of working in such a space has never worn off - every performance there has been unforgettable.

Working alongside the experienced theatre team is another very rewarding aspect; from learning more about a production’s lifecycle, receiving training and witnessing the general running of a West End theatre, we are so grateful for all of their help.

What has being part of Rhapsody taught you about working as a community, and what have you gained from this experience?

From the very start, we realised a student production of this scale required clear communication, organisation and direct engagement. These are characteristics that we believe we have continuously improved upon throughout the process, carrying alongside them the chance to get to know our amazingly talented cast, production team and Stage Crew members that we work with.

Most importantly with Rhapsody, we hope to have cultivated a community where everyone involved feels comfortable, supported and excited about live music, as we have felt in previous years.

Why should people come and see Rhapsody?

Having been performed 11 times before, Rhapsody is UCL Live Music Society’s largest annual concert, and a staple of the UCL music scene. Rhapsody 2026 promises to continue the legacy of exceptional musicianship across a diverse set of genres, creating an unforgettable night of sound and spectacle.

The numbers included this year span from Pink Floyd and Lana Del Rey to Daft Punk and the Jackson 5, along with some particularly difficult arrangements from 14 other artists. With the hard work of our cast and crew on full display, the show delivers an extraordinary musical journey, showcasing an impressive variety and quality of popular music, sure to make it an enjoyable evening.

If you could describe Rhapsody in three words, what would they be?

Grand, energetic, collective!
