Liberation Networks represent an opportunity for students to challenge and campaign against discrimination, oppression and inequality faced by themselves or others and work to defend and extend their rights.
They aim to ensure that UCL's actions do not unfairly exclude, neglect or discriminate against any section of the student body, and also encourage extra curricular activities to promote community and cooperation amongst students.
The POC Network represents the interests of anyone who self identifies as a Person of Colour. We co-ordinate campaigns relating to issues relevant to our interest. We offer students the opportunity to participate in projects, campaigns and social events, such as Black History Month, Diversity Month and BME Talks.

"We have brought the POC community together in a diverse range of events. One that stood out to me the most was our Afro-Cuban event in collaboration with the Salsa Society and African Caribbean Society.
We have hosted various other events aiming to achieve the same community-building goal, including a paint and sip night; a trip to a Caribbean restaurant; a POC vegan potluck day; a curly-hair workshop; an open mic night for BHM; a focus group for Black UCL students to share their experiences; a Latin American film night and much more!" - Rawleka
The Disabled Students’ network works to promote the interests of disabled students including those with long term illness, specific learning difficulties and mental health issues. They fight against discrimination, and coordinates campaigns related to issues relevant to disabled students. The section also offers students interested in disability issues the opportunity to participate in projects, campaigns and social events.

"Alongside my colleague Philip, we're working to build a vibrant community for disabled students, ensuring your voices are heard in Union decisions. We will lead initiatives, listen to and support you, and communicate your needs and suggestions within and beyond UCL. To make our campus more accessible, we also work with other university stakeholders, like disabled staff and Student Support and Wellbeing, as well as external organisations like Disabled Students UK." - Suzanna Chen
The Students' Union UCL LGBT+ Network works to support Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans*, Queer, Intersex and/or Aro/Ace students during their time at UCL. The network provides assistance and information, as well as working to campaign for and raise awareness of LGBT+ issues. The section enables students interested in LGBT+ issues to meet like-minded people within the University and across London. The section works closely with LGBT networks, societies and charities, putting on joint social events and campaigns and providing volunteering opportunities.

The Women’s Network represents the interests of UCL’s women students. The section coordinates and leads on projects and campaigns on issues relating to Women students and offers students interested in women’s issues the opportunity to participate in projects, campaigns and social events. The network works closely with the gender and feminism group at UCL.

The Students' Union UCL Trans Students' Network works to support Trans and Non-Binary students. The network produces regular events for trans students to attend, running campaigns to improve and raise awareness of trans rights on campus, as well as creating a welcoming community where trans students can meet each other. They are are a part of the wider LGBT+ Network, and trans students are welcome to attend any events run by either Network.
For the year 24/25, this role is currently vacant. We will be looking to re-elect in the future!
