Sure, there's lots of great student discounts available around London, but we have a feeling this will soon become one of your favourites. Meet our new Students' Union Rewards Club.
As a UCL student, our Rewards Club is completely free to join and designed with you in mind. No more switching between stamp cards and different wallets - if you're part of our Rewards Club you'll have access to exclusive student discounts and offers in all our Union Café and Bars throughout the year and receive a sweet birthday treat from us.
Rewards Club members can also collect points on every purchase in our cafés and bars and exchange them for free food or drink rewards ranging from a mocktail in Phineas to a curry in George Farha Café. To help get you started, we're giving you a free hot/iced coffee in any of our cafés when you sign up!
How it works
- Create your free account by signing up here
- Download your Rewards Club Card onto your Google or Apple Wallet on your phone. (It should look like the one on the right)
- Scan your card every time you make a purchase in one of our cafés or bars. (You'll also be able to redeem your free hot/iced coffee the first time you visit and scan - just let your server know!)
- Collect points! Keep an eye on your emails (or log in) for your points balance and exclusive bonus offers
- Redeem your points for free food and drinks in our outlets 🎉 (You can view all the rewards and offers currently available from the customer portal.)
Yes it really is that simple! And if you want to supercharge your points there's lots of other ways to boost them including sharing feedback on your visit, purchasing sustainable products, using a reusable cup or referring a friend.

- Do I have to be a student to join?
- No, anyone can join our Rewards Club however when you sign up we'll ask if you're a student, staff member or member of the public. This helps us personalise your experience and make sure we offer the best deals specifically for you.
- Where can I collect points and redeem offers?

Our Union bars: Phineas Bar, Mully's Bar, Huntley, The Institute.
Our Union cafés: Bloomsbury Café, George Farha Café, Grab n Go, Gordon's Café, Print Room Café - Do I have to pay to join?
- No it's completely free to join our Rewards Club
- How much are points worth?
- For every £1 you spend you'll receive 10 points. From your account you'll be able to see all the rewards available and how many points are needed to redeem them. We also run special offers and rewards throughout the year where you can collect double points or extra points when you purchase an item from our sustainable suppliers.
- How do I redeem my free drink from signing up and what's included?
- Once you've signed up you'll receive an email welcoming you to the club and letting you know that your free drink has been added to your account. Once you've received this email you'll have seven days to visit one of our cafés or Institute bar to redeem it. All you need to do is scan your Rewards Club card at the till and let your server know you want to redeem your free drink.
All standard hot or iced coffee and teas are included in the offer. Excluded drinks include all matcha, mochas, hot chocolate, spiced chai, protein shakes, smoothies and any bottle/canned drinks. You can redeem your voucher in Bloomsbury Café, Gordon's Café, Grab & Go, Print Room Café or Institute Bar.

- You can check your current points balance at the top of your customer portal alongside all our current active rewards. We also include your current points balance at the top of all our member emails as a handy reminder.
- Are alcoholic drinks included in the rewards?
- No, whilst you can collect points on any of your purchases in our cafés and bars (including on alcoholic drinks) you can't redeem points for an alcoholic product. Our bars rewards include all our non-alcoholic drinks and Institute pizza.
- Are there other ways to get rewards?
- Yes! As well as collecting points with your purchase, Club members will be the first to hear about exclusive offers in our cafés and bars - that could be anything from a discount on one of our seasonal specials to a free gift on your birthday.
You can also earn additional points to bring you closer to your next reward by referring a friend, sharing your feedback on your visit or telling us a little more about you. - Where can I see all the rewards available?
- You can view all the items that are redeemable for points from your customer portal.
Additionally if we have any special or seasonal deals running or you have a gift voucher these will also be visible at the bottom of your portal homepage. - Do I have to select the reward I want to collect points for?
- No, when you visit the till and have scanned your Rewards Card your server will let you know if there's any active rewards you can redeem. It's your choice if you want to redeem them then or keep them to save up for something else. If you know you've got enough points for a reward then you can also let your server know.
- How do I change my account information?
- If you need to change your name, email or any personal details associated with your account you need to log into the customer portal, click 'My Account' in the top right corner and from here you can edit your information.
- I've been given a voucher - how do I redeem it?
- First of all - yay! You'll need to have a Rewards Club account to redeem your voucher. Once you're a member, you should receive an email letting you know you've been sent a voucher and its details. The voucher should be automatically added to your account upon receiving the email, although sometimes you may be asked to click a button in the email to activate the offer. Once this has been done you just need to scan your Rewards Club card at the till and let your server know you want to redeem your voucher. Alternatively you can also ask the server to scan the QR code included in your voucher email to redeem it. If you have any issues email [email protected].

As part of our promise to offer you great value, we always have lots of student deals and discounts in our outlets all year round. Our top three are:
- Meal Deals - Last year students collectively saved £171,000 in Bloomsbury Shop with our meal deals! We offer value, classic and premium meal deals, and with the shop located in the centre of campus near the library it makes it a perfect stop on the go between lectures or study sessions.
- Gym membership - We have discounted rates on all student annual and monthly memberships and day passes at both our TeamUCL Gym Bloomsbury and TeamUCL Gym East sites giving you full access to our state of the art facilities and full class schedule. (Plus we have our best membership offer of the year starting in September so be sure not to miss that for a bargain!)
- Happy Hour - all our bars have some fantastic daily drink deals (all drinks £3.80 in Phineas on a Wednesday anyone?) but a favourite for postgrads is Institute Bar's roof terrace, and with non-alcoholic drinks for £4 and 3 cocktails from £16 there's no reason not to!
