We have had some talented student-athletes come through the Elite Athlete Programme at UCL, below are a selection of Alumni Athletes that chose to share their story whilst studying here. 

2017-2018

Chaneil Patel is a national level Taekwondo athlete at UCL, here he discusses how he got involved in the sport and his achievements to date.

2018-2019

Caiti Maxwell is a Great British fencer, she recently won a bronze medal at the Junior European Championships. Caiti has given us a great insight into her journey so far, click here to find out more!

Helshan Weerasinghe is a British Table Tennis athlete. He has recently been selected for the 2019 World University Games. Helshan is one of our most talented Elite Athletes, click here to see his greatest achievements to date.

Abazz Shayaam-Smith has only been involved in triple jump for 3 years, yet in that time she become UK no.1 and won national championships. Abazz gives us an insight into her training program and lifestyle here

Aidan Roberts has become the Elite Athlete Programme’s first elite rock climber! He has aspirations of achieving Olympic success! Most recently he won a Silver medal at the British University and Colleges Sport Championships in Sheffield. He discusses his route into the sport and his achievements to date here.

Kai Maxted has become an integral part of the league champions Mens Tennis 1st Team. At the age of 18 he has a junior world ranking and aims to be progress onto the pro circuit. Find out more here.

Adam Everett is a Junior World champion. He has also won multiple national level Taekwondo championships. Adam gives us a great account here of how he was introduced to the sport and what other benefits he has gained from competing and training in Taekwondo.

Anna Marshall is an age group British Triathlete, she has big ambitions and hugely passionate about representing Team UCL at this year’s championships. Read all about Anna’s rise to success here.
