Founded in 1946, Pi Media is the oldest and largest student journalism society at UCL. We’ve spent over 70 years creating current, insightful and award-winning content on campus. Initially launched as a newspaper, we now publish on three platforms: Pi Online, Pi Magazine and PiTV.

Pi Online is our fastest-growing platform, where we regularly post content across six sections: news, opinion, features, science, lifestyle and culture. We've won several awards for this media outlet, including Best Publication at the 2015 and 2017 UCLU Arts Awards and the Student Publication Association's Best Website 2015/16.

Pi Magazine is our free biannual features publication. Each magazine issue centres on a different theme, carefully chosen to drive discussion of current events and new ideas on campus. We pride ourselves on the professional journalistic and artistic quality of Pi Magazine. We were named runner-up in the Best Student Publication category of the 2009 Guardian Student Media Awards, and recently won the Best Publication award at the 2012, 2013, and 2016 UCLU Arts Awards. Look out for our launch events this year and pick up a copy of the glossy print magazine on campus!

PiTV is the broadcasting arm of Pi Media. We produce a range of video projects, from short documentaries, travel diaries and the Backstage Pass series, to student news coverage, political interviews and UCL Students’ Union investigations. In 2013 PiTV won the Best Collaboration award with the Film Society.

Pi Media offers a dynamic and supportive environment to develop your journalistic style. Maybe you want to report on campus news? Or voice your opinion on politics, music or the environment? Maybe you’re a budding designer? Or you have a personal story to share? Whatever your idea, Pi Media can project your voice to students on campus.
