Join us for a creative workshop exploring how community spaces are cared for and sustained through collective action.

Delivered with the Social Impact Team and led by artist and designer Christie Swallow, you'll learn about the Soanes Centre and its environmental education work before taking part in a collaborative textile-making session. Using sun printing and machine sewing, you'll create beautiful textile pieces inspired by the centre while exploring themes of community care, creativity and ecology. These pieces will go on display in the Soanes Centre.

You'll also meet Soanes Centre volunteers and gain insight into how their educational programmes are nurtured in the unique setting of Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park. Together, you'll help create functional textile works that support the centre's ongoing activities. You don't need to have any sewing experience - come along and learn a new skill!
