💌 Join us for a Valentine’s (Palentine’s!) Crafternoon Card-Making for Older Adults
Join us for a relaxed and welcoming Valentine’s Crafternoon, where UCL students will create handmade Valentine’s / Palentine’s cards filled with uplifting, thoughtful messages for older adults.
The cards will be distributed by Riverside, supporting connection and positivity for residents who may particularly benefit from a kind message during a time of year that can feel lonely for some.
A handwritten card can mean so much more than we realise. For many older adults, it’s a small but meaningful reminder that someone has taken the time to think of them. By sharing kind words, a friendly message, or something personal from your own culture like a greeting in your native language, a symbol that means something to you, or a few words about where you’re from then you can genuinely brighten someone’s day. It’s a simple way to spread kindness, spark connection, and remind someone they’re not alone. Whether you love crafting or just want to do something thoughtful with your afternoon, this is an easy, creative way to give back.
Please note: this is a drop-in session! you’re welcome to join for as long or as little time as you like.

We especially encourage students to include something personal or cultural in their cards such as greetings in your native language, patterns, symbols, or messages of encouragement, helping make each card truly special.
