Drop in and join Artist in Residence, Lauren Godfrey to create a large‑scale artwork by contributing a single square to a giant chalk‑grid drawing mapping out the theatre backdrop plans Lauren has been creating with students across UCL. As the drawing grows, you’ll see how individual marks connect to form a whole - a physical reminder of how collaboration, pattern and shared effort shape the world around us.

These skills are transferrable to business and management in so many fields, it's all about collaboration and playing a part in a whole - like an orchestra or a cog in a machine!

If you like being part of it, you can apply to take part in painting the backdrops in situ at the Bloomsbury Theatre in June / July! Find more information and apply here https://studentsunionucl.org/product/202023

You might also be invited to record a short 2-3 minute audio reflection on the patterns in your research, interests or life - the ones you repeat, the ones you break, and the ones you’re still discovering. These reflections will become part of the UCL200 Artist in Residence project and may feature in the Bloomsbury Theatre installation. Come and be part of the celebrations!

Skill focus: Creativity, Reflection, Collaboration

Lauren Godfrey is an artist based in London working across sculpture, drawing and large scale public projects. She is Artist in Residence for the student community across UCL during the UCL200 celebrations and is working to co-produce a series of works with students.
