- Hosted by Wilderness Medicine Society
Wilderness Medicine Society is visiting the RNLI Tower Lifeboat Station in Central London on Saturday 17th October!!! If you are interested in the RNLI's work, emergency rescue and lifesaving, this promises to be an exciting tour.
The Royal National Lifeboat Institution is a charity that saves lives at sea and across inland waterways in the UK, Ireland, the Channel Islands, and the Isle of Man. With a fleet of more than 200 boats and almost entirely operated by volunteers, the Institution has saved over 147,000 lives since its formation in 1824.
Travel info and what we will be doing:
We are meeting outside in the UCL Main Square at 11:30 (the portico) and will travel as a group by tube down to the lifeboat station (so bring your travel card)! Please be prompt, the visit starts at 13:00 and ends at 14.30. We will receive a talk and a tour of the facility by staff.
Important notice:
Be aware that this is a working lifeboat station, staff may be called out on short notice to an emergency and our tour may end unexpectedly (very unlikely but good to be aware of).
