Join English society for a trip to the British Library for a talk on Jane Austen!

Speakers include:

  • Professor Devoney Looser, Jane Austen scholar from Arizona State university, and author of Wild for Austen (all about debunking Austen myths and her real life!)
  • Bee Rowlatt, lead presenters on the BBC’s recent docuseries Austen: Rise of a Genius
  • Kate Evans,  author of Patchwork: A Graphic Biography of Jane Austen
  • Catherine Angerson, British Library’s Curator of Modern Archives and Manuscripts!

There are 6 tickets available from the 10th of November at 6pm — first come first serve! Tickets are available only for standard memberships.

We will meet at 6:15 outside the Student Centre (where Jeremy Bentham's corpse is!) and make our way to the British Library together. The talk will start at 7pm and end at 8:30pm.

If you would like to collect a free English society tote-bag, let us know ahead of the event so the committee members running the event can bring one to you!
