Join us at UCL East Community Cinema for a special evening exploring the realities of artificial intelligence, featuring a screening of Ghost in the Machine, student short films and an interactive workshop.

Directed by Valerie Veatch, Ghost in the Machine examines the social and political complexities of AI, tracing its historical connections to eugenics and exploring its often-hidden impacts on modern society. Through a series of thought-provoking chapters, the documentary challenges perceptions of AI as a flawless and efficient technology, inviting audiences to reconsider its role in our everyday lives.

The evening will begin with a selection of short films created by BA Art and Technology students.

Following the main screening, join an experimental workshop led by Pauline van Mourik Broekman, Head of Histories and Theories for BA Art and Technology, exploring the lived realities of working and studying with AI.

Presented by UCL's BA Art and Technology programme.
