Community Research Initiative Showcase

Book tickets

Join the Community Research Initiative (or CRIS to our friends) to bring together our students, community partners, and wider UCL and London community as we celebrate the core of what we do within CRIS: creating knowledge together.

All about the Community Research Initiative

The Community Research Initiative is all about bringing  people together across the student-community divide to co-design research and create real world impact. Our programme spans from undergraduate engagement, to masters student research and high impact community consulting from our doctoral students. Every year we bring our community of students, academics, and community organisations together to celebrate, reflect, and make new connections to continue to nourish our ecosystem of change.

What to expect:

Our showcase this year will take us to our UCL East Campus where we will hear from our students, staff, and community partners about the impacts that they have made through their engaged research. You can expect a series of talks, engaging panels, some creative evaluation activities, and a poster session showing all of the exciting ways that we have connected community to classroom throughout the year.  After the program ends, join us for a drink and snack reception to connect with the CRIS community and spark conversations that could lead to more collaboration. We will toast to another year of research and engagement with  and for  the community.

Schedule:

  • 14.00 Arrival and student poster sessions
  • 15.00 Community Impact Flash talks (line up to be announced)
  • 16.00 Bubbles and CRIS community networking building
If im UCL staff or external to UCL can I still book a ticket?

Yes! To book a ticket all you need to do is make an account with Students' Union UCL . You can find all the information to do that here.

Is this event open to people who have not yet engaged with the Community Research Initiative?

Yes! This event is as much about celebrating our past year of work as it is generating conversations, connections, and excitement about work for the future. Connections are often made between UCL students, academics, and our community partners who attend the event. Come on over and get aquainted with the CRIS community!

What if I do not have anyone to attend the event with?

Our friendly team will be here to make sure that you feel welcome and comfortable at our event. We're bias but we also believe that the CRIS community is one of the most welcoming spaces at UCL. Still have questions or worries about the event? Email CRIS@ucl.ac.uk to chat them through .
