Join us at UCL East Community Cinema for a screening of The Case Against Space, a documentary exploring NASA's 1973 Skylab 4 mission and the first alleged labour strike in outer space.

Faced with overwhelming workloads and constant oversight from Mission Control, three astronauts reportedly stopped work and temporarily cut communications with Earth in protest against their working conditions.

Drawing on real NASA transcripts, director Graeme Arnfield combines extensive research with black-and-white reconstructions to reimagine the events of the mission, exploring themes of labour, technology and control.

The screening will be followed by a special conversation with director Graeme Arnfield.

Presented by Open City Documentary Festival.
