actingUnlocked Intensive ‘States of Readiness’ Led by Oscar Batterham & Charlotte Bate

Join us for an energising two-day acting workshop that invites you to explore the fundamentals of courageous performance through connection, presence, and the joy of ensemble.

artsUCL is thrilled to welcome acclaimed actor and Fontainebleau School of Acting tutor Oscar Batterham, alongside actress and creative collaborator Charlotte Bate, to lead this intensive edition of actingUnlocked.

Together, we’ll investigate the essential question: “Where do I begin?”

What does it take—physically, vocally, mentally, and emotionally—for an actor to step into a space and start their work with truth and clarity?

Through dynamic exercises, group play, and ensemble practice, this workshop will empower you to:

-Reconnect with your body and voice

-Embrace risk, generosity, and presence

-Build trust with your fellow actors

-Create from a place of honesty, not habit

Who is this for: This workshop is open to all UCL students- no theatrical experience is required. All that is necessary is curiosity and a willingness to play. Must be available for both days.
