The Research Journey of "1,000 Miigwetches" - Language Revitalisation from a Decolonial Perspective and Intro to Potawatomi
A talk covering Jay's experiences researching the intersectionality of Indigenous language and identity, the pedagogical systems that are being designed and utilised by First Nations teachers and knowledge keepers, and the need to decolonise linguistic fieldwork for legitimate language revitalisation efforts. Concludes with an introductory lesson for the Potawatomi language, following First Nations methodologies.
