🎙️ Speaker: Sir John Hardy FRS, UCL Institute of Neurology
🧬🧠 Co-hosted by: UCL Dementia Research Society (DRS) & Genetics Society (GenSoc)

We’re thrilled to announce an exciting upcoming talk featuring Professor John Hardy, a world-renowned neurogeneticist from the UCL Institute of Neurology. This event is co-organized by UCL Dementia Research Society (DRS) and UCL Genetics Society, bringing together students and researchers interested in the intersections of genetics, neuroscience, and dementia research.

In this talk, Professor Hardy will explore the genetic architecture of neurodegenerative diseases that lead to dementia, focusing on how specific genetic variants contribute to disease risk, pathology, and clinical symptoms. He will also discuss how genetic risk differs across diverse population groups, shedding light on the importance of inclusivity in research and the implications for diagnosis and treatment.

This is a unique opportunity to:

  • Gain insights into cutting-edge dementia research from a leading expert
  • Explore the genetic underpinnings of neurodegeneration
  • Understand the role of population-specific risk variants
  • Ask questions directly during the Q&A session following the talk

Whether you're a Genetics, Neuroscience, or Medical Sciences student—or simply curious about the science of dementia—this talk is not to be missed!
