This lively and interactive workshop, created as part of the UCL200 Staff Contribution and Engagement Fund, celebrates UCL’s bicentenary by looking ahead to the skills, values and relationships children will need over the next 200 years. The third and final session in the series explores the everyday challenges of motivation, routines, digital life and family wellbeing.
Drawing on research in psychology, education and child development, Dr Gisele Dias and Dr Liory Fern-Pollak from the Department of Psychology and Human Development at the IOE will use engaging activities, relatable scenarios and practical discussion to consider how adults can support learning, navigate technology and help children manage uncertainty. Designed for UCL staff and students who are parents, carers or educators, the workshop offers a relaxed and welcoming space to explore family life and help children approach the future with confidence, responsibility and hope.
