This lively and interactive workshop, created as part of the UCL200 Staff Contribution and Engagement Fund, celebrates UCL’s bicentenary by asking how the relationships we build with children today can help shape the next 200 years. It explores how adults can strengthen connection and cooperation while holding clear and respectful boundaries.
Drawing on research in psychology, child development and parenting, Dr Liory Fern-Pollak and Dr Gisele Dias from the Department of Psychology and Human Development at IOE will use engaging activities, relatable examples and practical discussion to explore power struggles, conflict, encouragement and repair. Designed for UCL staff and students who are parents, carers or educators, the second workshop in the series offers a relaxed and welcoming space to share ideas and discover practical ways to reduce unnecessary battles and build stronger relationships.
