To develop the capacity and skills of residents living on the Regents Park Estate and surroundng area. Anybody can join a time bank - all ages, all abilities, and people of all cultures. Everybody's contribution is valued equally whatever the activity shared or exchanged. One hour = one time credit. Currently has over 350 family members and employs one part-time Outreach/Development Worker (Shamoli Mostafa) and one part-time Bengali female time bank broker (Shahanara Begum) who facilities one to one exchanges. Both organise shared group activities with the support of sessional teaching staff and volunteers. The time bank links people of diverse backgrounds and cultures together to share skills and knowledge with others and provide a helping hand. It recognises and values people's contributions to the well-being of others and their community - participants earn time credits when they give their time, and spend time credits when they need a helping hand. Student volunteers will provide valuable assistance and support to the Time Bank in organising and running community activities and in facilitating sharing of skills and knowledge between members. The majority of current members are BAMER women from a very wide range of ethnic and cultural backgrounds who have over 500 children under 12 years of age.
