Home-Start Greenwich (HSG) has been supporting families since 1993, offering targeted and universal family support services and child-centred programmes to families and children under the age of five who are experiencing isolation, hardship, homelessness, parenting and social challenges. As part of a national network, HSG focuses on promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children with their families, expanding locally from befriending support to a skilled family support service and early years learning organisation. Over the past decade, the organisation has grown substantially, securing contracts and commissions from Local Authorities and other funders to meet the diverse and changing needs of families.
HSG tirelessly works to secure partnerships and sustainable funding, aiming to provide quality and integrated support services to families when they need it most. Their strategy emphasises early preventative intervention work, grassroot engagement and connection and equal access to service provisions (local, universal, targeted and specialist services) targeting families from the earliest stages of a child's life, specifically within the first 1001 days. Their goal is to make accessing tailored support and services straightforward for the thousands of children with their families under five in the Royal Borough of Greenwich.
With clear plans, public support, and trained committed volunteers, HSG aims to "Create Possibilities Together" for families and the sector, ensuring holistic, coordinated and integrated support for every family in need.
