Description
We are looking for individuals who are interested in offering their time (two hours per week) to volunteer to support families in their homes and help them to access services in the community here in Greenwich.
We offer free enhanced training to volunteers and opportunities to aid their development within our Children Centres/Nursery/ Community Projects, Home-Visiting support and Fundraising activities and be a part of the organisation and wider community.
All travel expenses included within London TfL Zones 1-6.
Duties
Supporting families across Greenwich who engage with our services.
Who will the volunteers be working with?
Fellow volunteers, staff and our service users.
Training
Volunteers are inducted, supported, supervised and coached on the job by trained Family Support Coordinators, Lead Child & Family Support Practitioner or Children Centre Managers depending on the Settings (the Lead Key contact at the Setting) . This also depends on the career interest , agreed responsibilities and what the volunteer want to achieve whilst with us and the needs of the families and their children.
For the first three months , volunteers attend formal supervision each month. After the first three months , they attend supervision every 6 to 8 weeks. Regular contact with their key supervisor is a Must to monitor service delivery , wellbeing matters, and other challenges whilst volunteering.
Depending on how long volunteer is with us , they will have access to Local authority Safeguarding Partnership training courses and in-house development workshops etc.
