Age UK Islington
Age UK Islington is a charity which uses innovative techniques to provide support to Islington residents over the age of 16, enabling them to use self-help approaches to manage their own health and wellbeing. Are you a good listener? Can you empathise with the struggles of other people? Then this role may be for you! We currently have a few UCL students in this role and they are doing a great job reaching out to our clients. We are looking for enthusiastic and empathic volunteers who likes a chat but are even better at listening and picking up on the subtleties that may indicate that someone isn't doing so well. Your role will be to phone Age UK Islington clients and do a wellbeing check; sometimes this will only be a quick two minutes chat, other times the conversations will go on for a much longer time. This role is done from home, using your own computer and mobile.

Time commitment

Because the training and administrative work required to get a volunteer set up is quite extensive, we are asking for a commitment of a minimum of 3-4 hours a week for at least 6 months.
What measures have you put in place to ensure volunteers’ safety during COVID-19?
This volunteering role is a home based role.

This organisation is one of our community partner organisations.
