Scope
We're Scope, the disability equality charity in England and Wales. We: - provide practical information and emotional support when it's most needed - campaign relentlessly to create a fairer society.

Gain skills, raise vital funds and be a disability gamechanger in your local community. Our London Scope shops have re-opened and we need volunteers to help us turn donations into cash. Disabled people have been hard hit in these difficult times. By volunteering with Scope you will make sure they are not forgotten.

Raising income in our Scope Charity Shops funds our work to achieve everyday equality for disabled people. As a volunteer you can take pride in knowing you’ve made a difference to disabled people and their families at a time of need. In return, you'll develop customer service and team work skills, build confidence and gain experience in a large national disability charity.

Time commitment

This is a very flexible role. We’d love your help for as little as 1 hour a week, but if you can give 5 hours, even better. We’re open 7 days a week, so chat to us about the hours and days that suit you.
What measures have you put in place to ensure volunteers’ safety during COVID-19?
We have made a number of changes to the way our shops work, to help protect our customers, staff and volunteers.
Social distancing floor markings are in place, limiting the number of people allowed into shops, asking people to wear masks and use hand sanitiser. Protective equipment, hand sanitiser and additional cleaning products provided for volunteers. Regular cleaning of front and back of shop areas. Reduced shop opening hours.
All donations are quarantined for a minimum of 72 hours before they are sorted and put on sale. External donation drop off points outside each shop.

This organisation is one of our community partner organisations.

Like all volunteer recruiters we work with, they have signed up to our service standards, agreeing to abide by our policy on partnership working.

In addition, the team here at Students’ Union UCL Volunteering Service is here to support you throughout your volunteering journey – you can get in touch at any time with any questions, queries or problems you encounter.
