We are looking to embark on a project to overhaul our existing (extensive) music library of scores used in daily worship by the Cathedral Choir. These range in age from new to around 50 years old, and are an essential asset for our choral ministry. To do this, we are looking for volunteers to help with cataloguing, counting, and caring for our collection.
Phase 1
- Cataloguing the contents of the Cathedral Choir Library and entering data into the inventory of our holdings
- Noting the condition of music copies, and making a list of new copies needed to complete each set
- Covering new / uncovered copies with coloured card and labels to ensure each set lasts as long as possible
Phase 2
- Cataloguing the Merbecke Choir library and updating the inventory
- Preparing the library space for integrating Merbecke music into the current main library holdings
Time commitment
Work on this project can be undertaken on a flexible basis across the week, in partnership with Music Department staff. We are aiming to complete Phase 1 of the project by mid to late-November.
