Choose who represents your interests this year...

Student are elected by you to represent your interests within your Faculty, Halls, Network and extra-curricular activities.

They play a key role in shaping your experience at UCL, gathering student opinions and working with staff to make real improvements within the Union, UCL and beyond.

The Rep Elections are your chance to choose the people who will be representing your interests this year.

At 10am on the 21st of October, we experienced a website outage for an hour due to unexpectedly extremely high traffic on a product page. Voting was not available during that time, though the election itself was not otherwise affected and all data remained secure. Our hosting provider investigated and resolved within the hour, and we are working with them to investigate the cause of the outage to avoid it in future. We apologise for the inconvenience.

How do elections take place?

Campaigning will take place online and in-person. Candidates can share a manifesto to attract voters. Students will vote via a secure part of our website.

Will I get support during the election?

Yes, we have a staff team ready to help you! They can talk to you about different roles, how to reach potential voters and support you during voting week.

What happens if I win?

You will find out on Friday 23 October whether you have been successful. You will be invited to attend mandatory training on Saturday 24 October to prepare you for the Policy Zones which start from Monday 26 October onwards.

Who can vote for me?

Everyone who is eligible to stand for a position is able to vote for that position. Some positions, like Volunteering Rep are open to all students and therefore all students will be able to vote. On the other hand, other positions have an eligibility criteria. For example, only Postgraduate Research students from the Faculty of Brain Sciences can vote for the Faculty of Brain Sciences PGR Rep.

What are the rules?

A number of rules and regulations must be followed for our elections to be fair, transparent, and legally compliant. We have condensed them to be as clear and easy to understand as possible. Our election rules can be found here.

How do I submit a complaint?

If you believe one of the election rules has been broken, you can submit an official complaint.

Will there be training and opportunities for development?

Yes, plenty. You will gain more experience just from being in the role. There will also be the opportunity to go to events and conferences relevant to your role as well as opportunities to work on projects that you are passionate about. All successful candidates will be required to attend mandatory training on Saturday 24 October 2026.

Where will the roles be based?

You can work from home, attend virtual events and in-person at our Bloomsbury and UCL East Campus. We also have an office at 25 Gordon Street where you are welcome to work.
