To help support our adult garden volunteers who have mild to moderate learning disabilities with various gardening tasks. No gardening skills required! The group of around 10 meet weekly to do light gardening work (weeding, watering, etc.) for an hour and then have an hour tea break to chat. Receive the therapeutic value of being outdoors while reaping the mental benefits of volunteering by giving back and making new friends!
One to one help in pruning, planting, weeding, and watering for approximately 1 hour of gardening. Help facilitate discussion, set up and clear away for tea and cake hour for talking. Garden group takes trips to Kew Gardens so a willingness to assist on excursions too would be an advantage.
