Description
We're a proud north London charity supporting people with learning disabilities. We've been running for over 70 years and would love you to support our Friday night events programme. Join us on Friday nights for our wonderful socials with our beneficiaries whenever you can.
We really need you to support us involving attendees and encouraging everyone to participate. We'd love you to help with the practical elements of setting up and taking down the event with us as well - and have fun whilst you're at it!
Duties
- Engage in friendly conversation and encourage participation
- Help with set up and break down of Friday Night Social
- Assist at door in helping to check people in
- Actively watch for those who need befriending and extra encouragement to in participation
Who will the volunteers be working with?
Other volunteers (including other UCL students when they're volunteering), our staff team and our beneficiaries and their families.
Training
• Induction to Centre 404 and Learning and Leisure Induction
• Safeguarding Training
Ideally once every other Friday for at least a term - we're keen to work with you around what you can commit to as well, so please get in touch and we'll have a chat about this role and everything else we have available to UCL students.
