Description

Age UK Camden is an independent voluntary organisation working to enhance the quality of life for older people living in the borough. Our aim is to help older people gain confidence using technology, giving them a safety net if they have any issues.

One to One Support Sessions

Age UK Camden hosts One to One Support Sessions. They are open to older people in the Borough of Camden and City of London and offer them a chance to get tailored support with any tech problems they are experiencing.

We are looking for volunteers to offer support and guidance, encouraging people to build their confidence and knowledge in accessing their device. If you use technology on a regular basis for work, study, and daily life, you are likely to have the skills needed for this role.

Duties

Volunteer tasks may include

· Helping to solve a technology issue on their device.

· Teaching a client how to use a particular feature, app or software relating to their device.

· To ensure the space and equipment is set up for the session.

· Helping a client set up a new device.

Elderly residents of Camden Borough
Training
Mandatory Training on Safeguarding & Data Protection

Ongoing Support and Supervision with the Digital Inclusion Coordinator

Time commitment

One session per week from one of our sites (Fitzrovia, Kentish Town, Barbican).

· Sessions are held on a Tuesday and Wednesday.

· Willing and able to travel to various locations across the borough of Camden and City of London if required.
