Setting up community gardening activities in Lewishams adventure playgrounds.
LPD has established five community gardening opportunities across Lewisham, each equipped with the tools to care for the grounds. We’re seeking volunteers to practice their gardening in the adventure playgrounds by working closely with local residents and our team.
During weekdays, local residents will have access to maintain the grounds and participate in workshops and activities—before children arrive after school. While we provide a basic framework, gardeners will have the flexibility to adapt their approach to meet each community’s needs.
All gardens must remain free and accessible to the community, be playful for participants, and adhere to health, safety, and safeguarding requirements.
- Garden Coordination – Plan gardening sessions, working with residents to maintain the grounds.
- Community Engagement – Encourage local residents to join weekday gardening and workshops, creating a welcoming environment.
- Workshop Facilitation – Organise interactive sessions on gardening and sustainability, tailored to community needs.
- Health, Safety, and Safeguarding – Uphold safety measures and follow safeguarding procedures for all participants.
- Collaboration & Reporting – Work with the LPD team and playground staff, providing regular updates on progress.
