FoodCycle
At FoodCycle, our vision is to make food poverty, loneliness and food waste a thing of the past for every community. With community dining, week in, week out we feed the hungry and give company to the lonely in our communities; providing delicious three course meals and great conversation, using food that would otherwise go to waste! We rely on great volunteers to run our meals each week, so sign…

You'll be playing a vital part in connecting with our guests who may be feeling lonely, ensuring they still feel connected. A check-in and chat call can make all the difference to someone who is lonely and is also a great chance to socialise and check how they are doing. It's also a chance for the volunteers to provide them with information on local organisations which can offer them further support if needed.

Time commitment

Check in and chat calls last up to 15 mins. You will be assigned 4 different guests each Monday and you will have a week to complete your calls.

This support you will be giving is a one-off phone call that can be flexible to suit the time you have available to give. Calls should be made at times that are sociable hours: between 10am-8pm.
What measures have you put in place to ensure volunteers’ safety during COVID-19?
This is a remote opportunity.

This organisation is one of our community partner organisations.

Like all volunteer recruiters we work with, they have signed up to our service standards, agreeing to abide by our policy on partnership working.

In addition, the team here at Students’ Union UCL Volunteering Service is here to support you throughout your volunteering journey – you can get in touch at any time with any questions, queries or problems you encounter.
