Sports Awards

TeamUCL Sports Awards 2022 is here to celebrate your success this past year, whether that be as an individual, team, or club!

We welcome you to Bloomsbury Theatre where we will come together to present this year’s colours and award winners. This celebration of another great year in sport will be followed by arguably the social event of the year - Sports Ball and Dinner.

After an adapted Sports Awards in 2021, the decision has been made to continue two of last year’s new awards (Coach of the Year & Unsung Hero Award) as well as to keep the formal awards ceremony in Bloomsbury Theatre. Take a look at our 2022 Awards Criteria and the 2022 Colours Criteria to see what has changed and what has been retained from 2020/2021.

Nominating your club, team, a fellow TeamUCL member, or yourself is nice and simple. Nomination webforms for both colours and awards can be found on the End of Year Awards Nomination page. But before nominating, consider following the steps below:

Things To Note

  • Colours are broken down into commendation, sports colours and centenary awards depending on the years and levels of service individuals have given to their club and the Students’ Union. Consider what level of recognition is appropriate for each nomination.
  • A number of individual and collective awards are also presented. These commend behaviour that goes even further beyond what can be expected.

How To Nominate

  1. Check out the criteria for Sports Colours and Sports Awards.
    • Take note of the important criteria that needs to be met for our panel to consider awarding nominations with these awards. What examples can you detail that meet this criteria?
  2. Organise a committee meeting. Use this meeting to discuss your members’, teams’ and club’s achievements this year.
    • Starting with Colours, consider every one of your members and discuss whether they meet the criteria for commendation, colours or centenary.
    • Consider the criteria for our individual awards also. Do any of your members meet the criteria for these awards too?
    • Then consider your team and club achievements this year. Do they meet the criteria for any of our collective awards, and if so, how?
  3. Once you have a list of students you would like to nominate and/or any awards you’d like to apply for, then you can begin sending in your nominations. Nominations should provide concise supporting statements, but this really is your chance to tell us about all the amazing things you have achieved this year! We recommend that your write up supporting statements on an alternative document then copy and paste the information into the form.

Once you're ready, nominate through the End of Year Awards Nomination page!
