The London Universities Diplomatic Summit (LUDS) is a four-day inter-university academic summit, bringing together students and invited speakers from University College London, King’s College London, London School of Economics, and University of Oxford, for structured discussion on diplomacy, international relations, and contemporary global politics. Across four themed days, the summit features expert-led panel discussions, moderated conversations, and audience Q&A, with each university hosting one day of programming.

This year’s overarching LUDS theme is Great Power Dynamics, examining how major powers shape conflict, security, cooperation, and the international order. Each host university runs a dedicated day under this umbrella, focusing on a distinct dimension of modern diplomacy and global politics.

UCL Day — Conflict Without End: focuses on protracted and recurring conflict, how long-running crises evolve, and how diplomacy functions where resolution is uncertain or delayed.

LSE Day — Bordered Realities: Security, Mobility, and Meaning in Global Politics: explores how borders, movement, identity, and security frameworks shape political and diplomatic outcomes.

Oxford Day — Diplomacy Under Pressure: Conflict, Crisis, and the International Order: examines how diplomatic systems operate under crisis conditions and institutional strain.

KCL Day — Contemporary and Emerging Domains of Diplomacy: focuses on applied diplomatic practice in specialised and developing areas of international governance and negotiation.
